Better Pictures In One Step
One simple step to improve your Nikon D80? A tripod.
It has been almost a year that I have been shooting with a Nikon D80 DSLR camera. After taking many product review photos and dealing with uneven and blurry pictures, I finally came to my senses and purchased a cheap tripod on Amazon.

Jeremy Charles: Photographer
Click through to see more of Jeremy Charles' digital photos.
I was Gmail-chatting with my friend and ex-coworker Jeremy Charles, a local designer and photographer who’s been speedily upping his photography game for the last 2-3 years. We all got digital cameras at about the same time, he and some others took them and stayed with it and now produce some really great photos. His daily / weekly / whenever he feels like it photoblog is full of excellent shots, portraits, abstracts, band photos, you name it and is definitely worth a look for those of you that like looking at pretty pictures.

What Eats My Weekends
A new Sony digital camera takes up the weekend.
It was good fun reading this article by Steve Ranger talking about how so called time saving gadgets which are meant to save your time ....you end up wasting hours and hours "playing" with them. I can totally empathise with this. I recently spent an aimless Saturday afternoon checking out all the functionality on my new Sony digital camera.

Hysterical Fearmongering Continues
Some commentary on Senator Joe Lieberman's desire to expand the use of spy cameras.
First of all, spy cameras had nothing to do with spotting the car bombs in London. A passing driver saw smoke coming from one of the cars and reported it to the police. Sorry, Joe. And, Joe, what do you mean by "real privacy"? Anything the government doesn’t want to spy on? What a jerk.

Trusty Camera Dies
The trusty Olympus dies, but luckily there are replacements.
The main motivating factor for this was my trusty 6-year-old Olympus digital camera — the same one that had been taking all of the photos on this website since August 2002 — had died in the morning. However, due to the generosity of my friend Tori and my dad who had both decided a month ago that my camera was so antiquated that they each gave me a new camera for my birthday, I had two additional digital cameras at home. So I went to pick one of them up.
